On the front panel there are a pair of LED VU meters with 27 segments each from -45 to +3 dB, very accurate and switchable between a variety of standards. In addition to offering a 12G-SDI input for monitoring audio from professional video devices, this unit includes a 10G Ethernet SMPTE-2110 IP video input for connecting IP-based broadcast systems without the use of converters. Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G is capable of separating the audio of all SD, HD and Ultra HD video standard signals. It is therefore ideal for connecting to existing broadcast SDI devices and new 2110-based systems for IP video.
Additionally, it features traditional XLR audio inputs for L and R balanced analog audio, stereo RCA and AES/EBU. Thanks to the HDMI video output, it allows you to perform audio monitoring on large TV or computer screens. HDMI output is converted from the selected video input (12G-SDI or 2110 for IP video); the 12G-SDI loop output is also able to transmit the video of the selected input (SDI and 2110 for IP video).
On the front panel you will find the Solo Left and Solo Right buttons, Input to select the 12G-SDI inputs, 2110 for IP video, AES/EBU, Hi-Fi or analog audio and the button to mute the speakers, as well as an LCD display monitoring. The headphone input is also located on the front panel.
Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G is made with a machined aluminum chassis designed to eliminate acoustic vibrations even at high volumes. The speakers are two-way, with subwoofer.
