At the Horizon Music Festival, held on May 16–17 on Lake Garda, our client SpecialFX Pro deployed a total of eight Explo X2 Wave Flamer units—four positioned at the front of the stage and four mounted at the top of the custom-built DJ booth structure. The result was nothing short of spectacular, as you can see from the photos!
Horizon Festival is much more than just a music event—it's a sensory journey that blends the magic of Electronic Dance Music with the stunning beauty of its location: the beach at the mouth of the Sarca River in Torbole sul Garda, Trentino. Two days of pure magic, where breathtaking performances by world-renowned DJs delivered an unforgettable experience to a global audience.
To match the scale of the event, a dedicated DJ stage was set up where the renowned Explo X2 Wave Flamers helped create a striking visual impact, with flame bursts reaching up to 10 meters in height.

The challenge
At Horizon Festival 2025, the main challenge was to deliver a series of spectacular visual effects while ensuring full compliance with the safety requirements flame machines demand. The organizers wanted to use “dynamic” flame projectors—units capable of responding in real time to the artists’ performances and synchronizing flawlessly with both music and lighting.
The solution
SpecialFX Pro, the Vicenza-based rental company specialized in scenic equipment, chose the Explo X2 Wave Flamers precisely for their advanced technology. These units combine fluid-based flame generation with a motorized moving head, enabling rapid and precise flame bursts with a 210° motion range. This allowed for impressive effects both in floor position (at the front of the stage) and roof-mounted, placed at two different heights on the truss structure behind the DJ area.

The results
Florindo “Fiore” Santin of SpecialFX Pro commented on the outcome:
