On May 26th, 2025, Teatro Regio in Turin hosted the TEDx Torino event dedicated to the theme Close to Me. To enhance the talks by the twelve speakers and create a visually impactful environment, Spectra Event Technology chose to use Yes Tech MG7S P3.9 outdoor LED panels, purchased through Audio Effetti, the official Yes Tech distributor for Italy.
This collaboration further strengthens a long-standing relationship between the two companies, built on trust, quality, and a shared vision of enhancing live event technology.
The challenge
The historic rental company based in Venaria Reale (Turin) was in charge of the full audio, video, and lighting setup, in collaboration with lighting designer Mattia A. Carli. The goal was to ensure maximum stage impact and audience engagement, both inside the theatre and in the outdoor area, which was transformed for the occasion into the “Piazza delle Idee” (Ideas Square).
The solution
To create an immersive visual setting, Spectra built three self-supporting curved LED walls (one central concave and two convex laterals), using a total of 234 Yes Tech MG7S P3.9 outdoor cabinets. The configurations were as follows:
- Lateral LED wall: 5 x 3 m
- Central LED wall: 9.5 x 3 m
- Lateral LED wall: 5 x 3 m
The 50×50 cm cabinets, standard in the rental world, allowed for fast and precise construction. The combination of concave and convex surfaces enhanced the stage’s architectural lines and amplified the scene’s three-dimensional perception.
The results
“We chose the Yes Tech MG7S P3.9 for its adjustable brightness, 3840 Hz refresh rate, and ease of assembly. The lightweight (7.4 kg) nanotechnology polymer frame and the ability to build curved surfaces allowed us to create a functional and elegant setup that transformed the space and supported the event’s visual content in the best possible way,” comments Michele Spinelli from Spectra Event Technology.
