Compact, powerful and easy to transport passive subwoofer with bass-reflex accord. It is equipped with a specially designed 18" woofer, with a 5" voice coil that allows a large linear excursion (±15 mm).
Through the ventilation at the core of the magnetic pole, the heat development of the voice coil is dissipated optimally, therefore a high power handling capacity of 1800 WRMS and 7200 W peak can be achieved. The lower heat development also means greater reliability and reduced thermal stress on the voice coil; the result is excellent dynamics and a reproduction of dry and controlled bass at an incredible sound pressure.
It does not have an internal passive cross-over, so the frequency cut must be carried out by the power amplifiers of the Harmonic Design system or by an external electronic cross-over; up to a maximum of 160 Hz (with a slope of 24 dB/oct), it guarantees the best possible transitions between subwoofer and satellite.
The cabinet is constructed from high-quality plywood, painted to be scratch, impact and weather resistant with a finely textured polyurea finish. Two ergonomic carrying handles on the top ensure easy handling. There are also threads for attaching SilentWheels hd, the special 100 mm acoustically decoupled wheels.
An M20 threaded insert on the top of the cabinet allows a pole to be mounted to attach another speaker. hd Sub18 is also available in a handle-less installation version with M20 thread.
It can be used as a slave subwoofer in addition to the active hd P18 stereo subwoofer or with all the power amplifiers in the Harmonic Design system to ensure reliable and accurate reproduction of low frequencies.
