It is part of the new generation of power amplifiers with integrated DSP, sharing a web-based control platform that allows configuration and monitoring from any browser, without dedicated software.
The heart of the D-Drive 1.2k4h-Dante is a high-performance DSP based on the ADI Sharc platform, capable of managing a complete 4 × 4 matrix and a set of extremely advanced processing functions. The processing includes high-resolution FIR filters, parametric and dynamic equalization, compressors, expanders, and delays per channel, with the option of using presets dedicated to both the device and the speakers.
The power section uses proprietary Class-D technology with independent converters, designed to offer low noise, a linear frequency response, and a rated power of 4 × 150 W into low-impedance loads. The compact half-rack format allows for easy integration into installations where space is limited, maintaining the same philosophy of efficiency and reliability as the higher-end model.
Control is via Webcon, an integrated web interface that offers simultaneous multi-user access, compatibility with any browser on PC, tablet, and smartphone, and a unified workflow for managing multiple devices. The platform allows for real-time monitoring, level management, mute, device identification, GPIO configuration, IP wall panels, and the use of open APIs for integration with third-party systems.
On the connectivity front, the D-Drive 1.2k4h-Dante features analog, AES/EBU and Dante inputs, ensuring high flexibility for integration into network audio systems. Outputs are available on Euroblock and/or speakON connectors, while the front panel features a modern interface optimised for 1/2 rack format, designed for compact installations and multi-zone systems. A special blank panel allows the amplifier to be mounted in a standard 19" rack space, or two D-Drive 1.2k4h-Dante units can be mounted within the same width using two side fins and a metal top mounting plate.
The cooling system uses a configurable thermally controlled fan, ensuring consistent performance even under harsh conditions. The universal voltage power supply ensures full compatibility with international power grids, while system protection is provided by a comprehensive set of intelligent functions: automatic inhibition of HF signals, protection against overvoltage, short circuit, overtemperature, and other critical conditions.
From a construction standpoint, the D-Drive 1.2k4h-Dante uses audiophile-grade components, including operational amplifiers, high-quality resistors and capacitors, and selected driver chips, to ensure clean and natural audio reproduction.
