Column loudspeaker with 24 x 3" wide-range drivers housed in an elegant rounded aluminum cabinet. The drivers couple to create an (almost) cylindrical wave front with a 8° vertical aperture; the result is a constant sound pressure level and almost uniform sound reproduction from the first to the last row.
The long throw (up to 30 m) and 80° horizontal coverage allow for great efficiency with few speakers. This results in a more direct sound, offers greater speech intelligibility and high feedback rejection in acoustically problematic rooms.
Therefore, the hd PL series column speakers are ideal for restaurants, bars, airports, train stations, home theater, conference rooms, hotels, A/V installations, multimedia applications, meeting rooms, TV studios, churches, live music, DJ, concert halls, radio. Compared to the hd ML32i, the hd PL24i shines with a lower total height at the same weight, which means it can be used in locations with a low ceiling height.
Thanks to the increased directivity of the 3" drivers, the 80° horizontal opening angle ensures that the sound energy is channeled even more, thus enabling a greater throw. With a larger membrane surface than the hd ML32i, the hd PL24i reproduction of music and speech in the low-mid range is even more powerful and a higher sound pressure can be achieved.
In fixed installations, the use of a subwoofer for speech reproduction can be avoided thanks to the full-range capability of the system.
To reproduce a sound program from the fundamental to the harmonics, conventional loudspeakers use two or three different types of transducers. This results in inconsistency not only near the crossover frequencies, but also in the important mid-frequency range due to the different decay times and membrane masses of different transducers. Especially in reproduction where the low range is covered by one type of transducer and the high range by another, the sound could be distorted. This is where the 1-way design of the PL i hd series comes into its own: full-range drivers covering the fundamental range up to the harmonic, the advantages of the Line Array (cylindrical wave) and the coherence of the sound wave, without "phasing" and group delay - a unique listening experience.
Internal clamping connections ensure a tool-free and quick connection of the loudspeaker. A high-quality aluminum powder coating and acoustic foam complete the features of the PL i series. For optimum adaptation to the room architecture, the loudspeaker can be customized in all RAL-color and special length.
