High-performance subwoofer based on a hybrid design for extended low-frequency reproduction below 34 Hz. Exceptional power reserves combined with minimal distortion make the hd Infra212 a modern, yet flexible tool for large-scale touring and installation applications requiring extreme bass, high SPL and excellent dispersion control.
The horn-loaded hybrid cabinet, in bass-reflex configuration and optimally tuned, houses two special 12" long-excursion drivers with 4" voice coils. A large central airflow-optimized reflex port allows for minimal turbulence and distortion. The frequency response of 34 Hz to 120 Hz makes the Infra212 suitable for perfectly extending the bass for all Harmonic Design loudspeakers. Thanks to its long throw, high efficiency and directivity, the hd Infra212 can be optimally integrated into line array applications with the HybridLineSource hd HLS20 and hd HLS24 loudspeakers.
The cardioid output is generated passively with two or three hd Infra212 stacked up to 85 Hz, or 65 Hz in direct radiation operation. An M20 threaded insert on the top and side of the cabinet allows for the insertion of a pole to secure the satellite speakers or to put a distance rod. Protective pads made of high-strength PVC on two sides and corresponding recesses on the top of the cabinet ensure a secure footing.
The speakON NL4 connectors, mounted on the rear of the recessed connection panel, are used to connect and route the input signal. A speakON socket in the protective front grille allows cardioid configurations without special interchangeable cables.
