High-performance subwoofer for the reproduction of frequencies down to 24 Hz. An exceptional power reserve with minimal distortion make the hd Infra221 a modern and flexible tool for touring and installation applications where extreme sound pressure in the lowest frequency range and maximum control over the emission are required.
Two special 21" high-performance speakers of the latest generation with 40 mm linear excursion and a power handling capacity of 14,400 W are housed in a particularly rigid and optimized multilayer cabinet according to a horn design with bass-reflex tuning.
Its excellent fidelity in the impulse response and its speed are unique for a double 21" subwoofer and make it universal, linear and with a “brutal” impact. Compared to Harmonic Design's most powerful hybrid horn subwoofer to date, the hd Infra218, the Infra221 is able to generate over 15 dBSPL more in the low frequency range below 28 Hz and is therefore aimed at users who require pressure and headroom even in the lowest octaves.
Thanks to its long throw, high efficiency and passive directional characteristics, the hd Infra221 can be optimally integrated into large sound systems. The acoustic design allows it to be combined with all Harmonic Design satellites and, as an infra extension, with all subwoofers. A large, CFD-optimized bass-reflex port in the center ensures excellent air excitation with minimal turbulence and distortion, even at maximum load.
Two M20 threads allow horizontal and vertical operation of the tops with a spacer rod. A reversible speakON socket in the protective grille allows cardioid configurations without an exchangeable cable. It is used on all Harmonic Design system amplifiers to ensure reliable and precise bass reproduction.
