SKU: RdmSplitter (Terminal)The RdmSplitter (terminal) is an optically isolated splitter / booster for DMX and RDM networks, designed to overcome the structural limitations of the DMX-512 protocol.
Despite being a widely used and reliable standard, the latter has some restrictions: a single line can handle a maximum of 32 devices, must be wired in a bus topology, and should not exceed 300 meters in length. The RdmSplitter (terminal) directly addresses these limitations by distributing the DMX signal across its 6 DMX outputs, enabling a more efficient and flexible star topology. Each output can drive an additional 32 devices and supports an additional 300 meters of cabling, regenerating the signal and functioning as a true booster.
The device offers DMX-512/RDM connections via Phoenix screw terminals, ideal for electrical panels and fixed installations where robust, tidy, and permanent wiring is required. Each port is individually optically isolated, increasing system reliability and reducing the risk of interference or failures propagating across the network. Compatibility with the RDM protocol (ANSI E1.20) enables bidirectional communication, allowing automatic device addressing and the return of status information to the lighting controller.
DIN rail mounting, 9 - 24 VDC power supply, and compliance with DMX512-A (ANSI E1.11), CE, ROHS, UKCA, FCC, and EAC standards make it an effective choice for permanent professional installations.
