The LEM Commercial Mistral series introduces five all-weather IP66 speakers designed for indoor and outdoor installations, operating both at 100 V and low impedance and based on a design philosophy that revisits the classic two-way configuration, but with a passive radiator. The range includes 3, 6.5 and 8" models, which are well suited to commercial environments, hospitality and public areas. They all share a modern design, a robust ABS cabinet, dedicated mounting brackets and optimized sound performance.
With this new series, LEM Commercial offers compact, weather-resistant speakers designed for permanent installations in indoor and outdoor environments.
There are three models, two of which are available in two colors, for a total of five:

We would like to point out an important design distinction right away: the Mistral3-PRC-W model uses a rear passive radiator, while the Mistral6-PR-B/W and Mistral8-PR-B/W models use a front passive radiator.
What are the technical plus points of the Mistral series?
The Mistral series was created with the goal of delivering controlled sound performance and great reliability in installations. All models share a common acoustic platform based on high-density ABS cabinets, IP66 rating (watertight and protected against dust and powerful water jets from any direction) and two-way configurations with passive radiator, a solution that makes it possible to achieve a fuller and more natural sound than traditional bass-reflex tuned outdoor speakers, while keeping a reduced footprint and full protection against water and dust.
As mentioned above…
- The Mistral 3 PRC-W models use a rear passive radiator, designed to couple with the wall and improve the perception of low frequencies in indoor environments
- The Mistral 6 PR-B/W and Mistral 8 PR-B/W, on the other hand, use a front passive radiator based on the patented DBE (Direct Bass Enhancement) system, which optimizes the front projection of bass toward the listening area by 130%, improving, as we will see, the extension of the lower portion of the audio spectrum while keeping the cabinet completely sealed.
In particular, at first glance the Mistral 3 PRC-W could resemble some competitor models, given the similar dimensions and design, as well as their intended use. However, it is essential to clarify that this is a completely different product, both in acoustic concept and in real-world behavior.
They are coaxial two-way speakers, with a 0.5" PEI dome tweeter that offers a significantly more accurate reproduction of high frequencies than competing full-range models. The 3" polypropylene woofer works in combination with a rear passive radiator, designed to exploit wall coupling and improve the perception of low frequencies. In enclosed spaces, even medium or large ones, the sum of low frequencies generated by several properly installed speakers like these makes listening surprisingly enjoyable even without a subwoofer, when used in adequate numbers.
What the two models do share is the ability to operate on 100 V lines (as well as at 8 ohm), dedicated and adjustable mounting brackets, protected pluggable or quick-connect terminals, and a consistent tonal balance that makes it possible to combine multiple speakers in the same installation. LEM Commercial will also provide dedicated presets for its digital amplifiers with FIR filters, which will further improve listening quality, both in single-speaker use and when paired with a subwoofer.
Construction and materials
The Mistral series is designed to ensure long-term reliability, even in permanent installations exposed to harsh environmental conditions. For this reason, special care has been taken in the choice of materials and in the construction itself:
- The front grille is made of corrosion-resistant material with a quick snap-on mounting system and is designed not to hinder sound dispersion. The absence of reflex ports is a deliberate choice given the exclusive use of passive radiators
- The mounting bracket is a key element of the series. In the 6.5" and 8" models, a single-arm bracket with a minimalist design is used, engineered to ensure stability and high load capacity, with an angle adjustment system that makes it easier to aim the speaker itself. The Mistral3 PRC W instead uses a more compact bracket, in line with the smaller cabinet dimensions, but equally robust
- The connection terminals are protected and easy to access: the larger models use quick-connect connectors (Standard Pressed Connector), while the Mistral3 PRC W uses pluggable terminals (Pluggable Terminal Blocks), a solution that simplifies installation and reduces wiring time. All speakers include a rear selector that allows you to choose between 100 V and 8 ohm operation, with various power levels available to suit system requirements
- The build quality concerns not only robustness, but also aesthetic consistency: the black and white versions of the 6.5" and 8" models share the same satin finish, designed to blend into modern environments, retail, hospitality and public spaces. Mistral3 PRC W, available in white, maintains the same design philosophy, with clean lines and a minimal footprint that also makes it suitable for discreet installations or architecturally complex spaces.

Conclusions

The Mistral3 PRC‑W introduces a new standard in the mini-speaker category, offering surprising listening quality thanks to the dedicated tweeter and rear passive radiator, while the Mistral6 PR and Mistral8 PR models provide greater headroom, low-end extension and sound pressure for larger spaces or protected outdoor installations. The availability of 100 V/low-impedance operation, together with dedicated FIR presets for LEM Commercial digital amplifiers, ensures immediate integration and optimized performance in any context.
