Audio Effetti introduces a major new firmware update for the Accsoon CineView M7 and M7 Pro smart monitors. As outlined below, this update delivers enhanced camera control functions, more advanced monitoring tools, and a series of optimizations that significantly improve the overall user experience.
The Camera Control function now supports adjustment of EI (Exposure Index) and shutter angle (the opening angle of the rotating shutter used in film cameras, which has become a well-established standard in modern full-frame cinema cameras) on compatible Sony models, such as the FX3 and FX30.
An automatic detection process has been implemented: when cameras such as the FX3 or FX30 switch to shutter angle or EI mode, the parameter control dial on the connected M7 monitor updates simultaneously.
Camera Control now also supports selected Nikon mirrorless models. These cameras allow image parameter adjustments; however, focus control is available only on the Z8 and Z9 models. Other entry-level Nikon models are unable to transmit video signals while simultaneously managing focus control via the PTP protocol.
Models supporting focus control: Z9 | Z8
Models not supporting focus control (video output is interrupted during focus adjustment): Z5 | Z50 | Z6 & Z6 II | Z7 II
Updated List of Supported Canon, Nikon, and Sony Mirrorless and Cinema Cameras
- Canon: R5, R5 Mark II, R6, R6 Mark II, R7, R8
- Nikon: Z5, Z50, Z6, Z6 II, Z7 II, Z8, Z9
- Sony: FX6 (beta), FX3, FX30, A7 Mark IV, A7S Mark III, A9 Mark III, A7C Mark II
Monitoring features
New Focus Peaking Tool
A new, more powerful manual focus assistance tool called Peaking has been introduced. This tool analyzes the sharpest edges and enhances their contrast, instead of overlaying colors like the previous focus peaking feature (now simply renamed Focus). Peaking operates exclusively on the contrast of the original image edges, making it easier to identify the focal plane and determine which elements are truly in focus on the screen.
-
A new Peaking tool has been added and is listed alongside the previous Focus overlay tool
-
A dedicated settings page for Peaking has been added, allowing users to adjust the intensity of the effect
Note: For professional film crews, this tool will feel very similar to the peaking functions found on high-end professional monitors. The default intensity is set to 30%, which is equivalent to approximately 10–15 on higher-end monitors.
Vertical Interface (Vertical UI)
With the release of the new “Portable Triple Vertical Monitor” setup for the CineView M7 Pro, a vertical interface has been introduced within the monitoring page of the integrated Accsoon SEE app. Users can now shoot vertical content using an interface layout specifically optimized for this format.
-
The Vertical UI can be accessed via a dedicated button
-
A new monitoring interface optimized for vertical use has been added
-
Two independent controls have been introduced: input video signal rotation (0° and 180°) and interface rotation (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°), allowing independent adjustment of signal orientation and UI layout
-
Vertical live streaming is now supported: when the monitor is set to vertical mode, the encoder transmits in vertical format based on current settings (the rotation button is locked during live streaming)
-
A new scope-rendering mechanism has been implemented, defining how the monitor draws and updates video analysis tools. In vertical mode, scopes adapt their sampling method and rendering direction to match the orientation
-
An optimization has been added to ignore black bars generated by vertical anamorphic de-squeeze, displaying only the actual video signal information
ARRI-Style False Color Option
Users can now choose between the legacy false color style and the new ARRI-style monitoring mode.
-
A new false color style option has been added
-
A dedicated detailed settings page for ARRI false color has been introduced, allowing selection of the recording format (LogC3, LogC4 Alexa 35, LogC4 Alexa 65) and EI value for maximum exposure accuracy
Enhanced Image Processing Pipeline
The signal processing pipeline has been updated to handle a greater amount of color information, delivering:
-
Smoother color transitions
-
Sharper object edges
-
More natural and “organic” noise rendering
Note: Manual HDMI driver updates are required. Please refer to the update release notes.
Interlaced Signal Optimization
A new dedicated pipeline for interlaced signals has been implemented, providing:
-
Smoother edges
-
Improved overall image quality
-
Significant reduction in aliasing artifacts present in previous firmware versions
Major DCI Format Optimization
The CineView M7 series has been extensively optimized for handling DCI 4K signals (4096 × 2160, 17:9). The new firmware introduces an intelligent processing pipeline that automatically adapts the aspect ratio based on the input/output combination, preventing distortion and ensuring consistent behavior between DCI and UHD/FHD 16:9 formats.
Summary:
-
DCI 4K inputs are now correctly displayed in 16:9 with black bars at the top and bottom, eliminating the horizontal stretching seen in previous versions
-
When both input and output are DCI, the image retains the 17:9 format without black bars over HDMI, while SDI and wireless transmission automatically add bars for compatibility
-
When input is DCI and output is UHD/FHD, the signal is converted to 16:9 with top and bottom black bars on all outputs
-
UHD/FHD inputs are always displayed full screen, while DCI outputs add side bars or padding to maintain the correct aspect ratio
-
Recording and live streaming functions automatically adapt to the selected format, adding or removing black bars as required
Additional optimizations
-
A new auto-detection process has been added in TX mode. When the device fails to initialize the Dual Band transmission module a problem frequently observed on devices that installed the October firmware update only once a warning message is displayed prompting the user to reinstall the update.
-
Audio input selection is now disabled when no external microphone is connected. A new auto-detection process has been implemented to prevent recording without audio when the correct input is not restored or is accidentally changed.
-
The keyboard experience for editing the SSID and password of the TX 5 GHz Wi-Fi network has been optimized within the integrated Accsoon SEE app settings.
-
Multiple CPU and GPU synchronization processes have been optimized to improve performance under extreme operating conditions.
In addition to the improvements listed above, the manufacturer has also addressed several bugs affecting previous firmware versions.
Installation notes
This update does not require a second installation. However, to take full advantage of all new features, after completing the update users must access Device Info in the Product Feature panel (reachable by tapping the top status bar), scroll to HDMI In Driver, and manually update the HDMI driver.
This procedure must be carried out in Monitor Mode with the CineView M7 connected to a Wi-Fi network with Internet access.
Note: After the update, the gamma setting in the Calibration menu may be reset to 2.20. Users working in professional broadcast environments should restore this value to 2.40.
