Audio Effetti introduces Titan 18.0, the latest version of Avolites’ advanced lighting control software for live shows, events and theatrical productions. Designed for use on Avolites’ professional lighting consoles as well as on PC, the software provides powerful tools for programming and managing lights, effects, and DMX devices.

 

This update is particularly significant for lighting designers, as it directly impacts productivity. Most notably, it introduces full support for the Diamond 7 lighting console.

Several improvements have also been introduced:

• Faster response of the side encoder wheels on Arena and Diamond consoles, enabled by holding the Shift key
• Digital Authenticator signature, reducing false positives triggered by antivirus software
• LED brightness alignment between the T3 and T3 Wing (requires firmware update)
• Improved error log management, with more efficient and streamlined recording
• New selection system for group and softkey buttons, available on multitouch screens; users can now press a group button and select a softkey option on the same screen on consoles that support multitouch
• Adjustable LED brightness for active knobs, configurable in User Settings

Changes have also been made to the Titan PC Suite installer, which no longer includes a local copy of the fixture personality library, instead attempting to download it automatically during setup. Users can choose to skip the download and manually retrieve it from the Personality website. If the library is not installed, Titan Go and Titan Simulator will still function and show files can be loaded, but it won’t be possible to patch fixtures or use the Capture Visualiser window.

As expected, the update also includes bug identification, correction, and verification to ensure software reliability.

 

Update procedure

Two update methods are available:

• From console: Users can upgrade from Titan 16.0 or 17.0 via an automated process. After saving the installer to a USB stick, installation can be started from the Titan Installers section in the control panel.
• From PC: Titan PC Suite now requires Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit Intel/AMD) and includes Titan Go, Titan Simulator, and Personality Builder. After downloading, simply run the installer and follow the instructions. An AvoKey must be connected via USB for the software to operate.

In conclusion, Titan 18.0 delivers substantial improvements in terms of compatibility, functionality, and software stability. Key highlights include support for the Diamond 7 console, various ergonomic enhancements, optimized logging, and a digitally signed Authenticator. Additionally, the Titan PC Suite installer now fetches the fixture personality library online rather than bundling it locally.
