During Gigi D’Agostino’s live set at Collisioni Festival 2025 in Alba, the stage production reached a spectacular dimension thanks to the use of 36 special effects machines: 12 Explo X2 Wave Flamer for flames, 12 Sparkular Jet II, and 12 Sparkular Cyclone for cold sparks, all supplied by SPECIAL FX PRO. These units produced rotating flame effects and vertical sparks in perfect sync with the music, transforming the DJ set into a truly multi-sensory experience.
The Collisioni Festival 2025 in Alba (CN), held on July 4, hosted a memorable performance by Gigi D’Agostino, DJ, record producer, and icon of the Italian dance scene. What made this event unique was the integration of advanced stage technologies. The precise use of Explo and Sparkular by Showven effects, distributed by Audio Effetti, turned the stage into a “living organism,” able to interact with the music and engage the audience on a deeper level.
The challenge
The production set out to go beyond the limits of a classic DJ set, creating a visual and sensory environment that would enhance the musical experience across genres such as Italo Dance, Lento Violento, and Mediterranean Progressive styles that define the Turin-born DJ. SPECIAL FX PRO, a Vicenza-based rental company specializing in stage and special effects and active in the live entertainment industry since the early 2000s, took on the challenge once again. In an outdoor context, with thousands of spectators and variable environmental conditions, it was crucial to ensure both strong visual impact and flawless synchronization between effects and music, all within a framework of total safety.
The solution
To meet this challenge, 36 special effects machines were deployed across three categories. The Explo X2 Wave Flamer, placed at the front of the stage, generated directional flames that moved in sync with the musical drops, creating dynamic, spectacular rotating fire columns, thanks to their ±105° tiltable moving head.

The Sparkular Jet II produced vertical bursts of high-intensity cold sparks, perfectly timed to emphasize the show’s most emotionally charged moments.

The Sparkular Cyclone stood out for its powerful cold spark projections, reaching adjustable heights between 6 and 10 meters.

The Sparkular units were installed on a dedicated balcony running the full width of the stage, positioned at a safe distance from the audience, just like the Explo flame systems. The Sparkular Jet II, compared to the Cyclone, were arranged to provide an evenly spaced and perfectly aligned scenic effect.
The results
