Wireless systems for musical instruments allow musicians to free themselves from cables, transmitting the signal (for example from an electric guitar or bass), wirelessly, to amplifiers, mixers or other audio devices.
These systems are composed of two main elements: transmitter and receiver.
The most common technologies operate in the UHF, VHF or digital 2.4 GHz bands. Digital 2.4 GHz systems, for example, are appreciated for their ease of use and audio quality, although they can suffer in crowded environments with Wi-Fi signals. For this reason, there are alternative technologies based on digital transmission in the UHF band.
An important aspect is the latency (signal delay): the best ones keep this value very low, in the order of a few tens of ms.
