Show lasers remain among the most engaging effects in visual entertainment. Audio Effetti has already covered this topic in the past, but this time the focus shifts to models designed for simple, immediate applications: the Laserworld CUBE series. These are not systems intended for full graphics shows or large-scale stages, but solutions that perform at their best with beam effects, tunnels and wave patterns, offering a truly plug-and-play approach. Control can be managed via app, DMX, stand-alone mode, or through an ILDA interface for more advanced PC-based operation. An additional key feature is the integrated battery, which significantly expands flexibility of use in mobile setups or in environments without direct power access.

Laser technology has always held a distinctive position in the show business: while high-power systems continue to evolve, semi-professional solutions are also undergoing a significant transformation. Where these devices once offered only essential functions, ongoing innovation has turned them into highly versatile and feature-rich tools, while remaining accessible in terms of cost.

The Laserworld CUBE series clearly reflects this leap forward. Although positioned within the mid-range compact laser category, it introduces features that were previously uncommon, such as control via a dedicated app and, in three out of four models, integrated battery operation. These elements open up new application scenarios, making these lasers well suited for mobile use, temporary installations, fast setups, and environments without direct power access.

This combination of flexibility, mobility, and ease of use is redefining the role of compact lasers in modern shows. As a result, they are increasingly requested not only by mobile DJs, live bands, and small clubs, but also in corporate events, lightweight installations, and mid-scale indoor productions, where they can be easily integrated into existing lighting setups.

One family, four models

Let’s now take a closer look at the Laserworld CUBE series and explore its key features. As mentioned, the range includes four models — CUBE 1, CUBE 1.5, CUBE 3 and CUBE 7 — all RGB diode lasers with analog modulation, featuring a full metal construction with a robust chassis, professional-grade components, and a 360° mounting bracket. CUBE 1, 1.5 and 3 share exactly the same dimensions, while only the CUBE 7 comes in a larger format.

These are Class 4 devices designed to deliver an extremely favorable power-to-size ratio, combined with true plug-and-play operation.

Another key difference lies in the scanners: the CUBE 1 and 1.5 are equipped with 25 kpps scanners, while the CUBE 3 and 7 feature 30 kpps scanners, ensuring smoother motion and improved performance when displaying text and simple graphics.

The series also supports Master/Slave mode, allowing multiple units to be synchronized without the need for external software.

All models are equipped with a mandatory safety key and interlock system: without these elements, the laser cannot be activated, ensuring operation in compliance with the most stringent safety standards. Activation can also be managed directly via the app.

Laserworld CUBE 1 – 1 W RGB

The CUBE 1 is a 1 W RGB laser designed to deliver intense effects in small to medium-sized environments.

Key features:

  • 1000 mW RGB (200 mW R, 300 mW G, 600 mW B)
  • 1 mrad divergence for sharp, well-defined beams
  • 25 kpps scanners @ 8° (suitable for effects and simple graphics)
  • Control options: app, DMX, stand-alone, sound-to-light, ILDA
  • 360° mounting bracket
  • Mains-powered only (no battery operation)

It is ideally suited for DJ sets, small clubs, event venues, and fixed installations where a compact yet powerful laser is required. It can generate beam effects, tunnels, and wave patterns, and via the app it is also possible to create text and send it directly to the unit.

Laserworld CUBE 1 - 1000 mW compact RGB diode laser, beam specs of approx. 3  mm / 1  mrad, 25 kpps @  8° scanners, ILDA / DMX / App control, over 250 built‑in patterns

Laserworld CUBE 1.5 – 1.5 W RGB with battery

The CUBE 1.5 introduces one of the most significant features of the series: an integrated battery, providing up to 4 hours of operation depending on output intensity.

Key features:

  • 1500 mW RGB
  • 25 kpps scanners @ 8°
  • Control options: app, DMX, stand-alone, sound-to-light, ILDA
  • 360° mounting bracket
  • Integrated battery

It is designed for mobile DJs, corporate events, temporary installations, fast setups, and any situation where direct power access is not available. While it can be used outdoors, it does not carry an IP rating — as is also the case with the 3 W model — and should therefore not be exposed to rain or moisture without appropriate protection.

Laserworld CUBE 1.5 - 1500 mW compact RGB diode laser, built-in 3500 mAh battery, beam specs of approx. 5.5  mm / 1.1  mrad, 25 kpps @  8° scanners, ILDA / DMX / App control, over 250 built‑in patterns

Laserworld CUBE 3 – 3 W RGB with battery

The CUBE 3 is the most powerful version among the compact battery-powered models.

Key features:

  • 3000 mW RGB
  • 30 kpps scanners @ 8° (smoother performance, improved for text and simple graphics)
  • Control options: app, DMX, stand-alone, sound-to-light, ILDA
  • 360° mounting bracket
  • 3500 mAh integrated battery

It is ideally suited for larger environments, indoor live bands, mid-sized clubs, and mobile installations.

The increased output power combined with smoother scanner performance also makes it suitable for custom content created via the app, such as text, simple logos, and basic animations.

Laserworld CUBE 7 – 7 W RGB with battery

The CUBE 7 is the top-of-the-range model in the series, designed for users who require greater brightness output, especially in larger indoor or outdoor environments.

Key features:

  • 7000 mW RGB
  • 30 kpps scanners @ 8°
  • Control options: app, DMX, stand-alone, sound-to-light, ILDA
  • Compatible with professional software (Showcontroller + Shownet interface)

App control: the real breakthrough of the CUBE series

One of the most significant innovations introduced by the Laserworld CUBE series is full control via a dedicated app, available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. A feature not found in previous generations of compact lasers, it represents a true paradigm shift, making these systems immediately accessible even to users without professional software or advanced technical skills.

The Cube Laser Control app allows fast and intuitive management of the laser, turning it into an extremely versatile tool. It offers a wide selection of pre-programmed patterns, already stored on the laser’s mainboard, which can be easily recalled, modified, and customized in real time. Parameters such as size, rotation, colors, speed, and movement direction can be adjusted with precision, allowing effects to be tailored to the space and the type of show.

One of the most appreciated features is the ability to create custom content, including text (with selectable fonts, sizes, and colors), simple logos, geometric shapes, and basic animations. The app also allows users to import images directly from their smartphone, automatically convert them into compatible graphics, and project them with a single click. This functionality significantly expands creative possibilities, particularly for corporate events, weddings, customized DJ sets, and themed installations.

Another key advantage is the ability to store custom content directly within the laser. Once uploaded via the app, patterns can be recalled later via DMX or used in automatic mode, without the need to reconnect the device. This makes integration of the CUBE units into pre-programmed shows simple and immediate, while still retaining the flexibility of mobile control.

Conclusions

The Laserworld CUBE series represents a significant step forward in the compact laser segment, introducing features that until recently were only available in higher-end systems. App-based control, the ability to create and customize graphic content directly from a smartphone, and the presence of an integrated battery on most models make these devices extremely versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications.

While maintaining a compact form factor and a truly plug-and-play approach, the CUBE units deliver beam quality, scanner smoothness, and control flexibility that place them in a category of their own. The combination of app control, ILDA, DMX, stand-alone modes, and wireless operation allows seamless integration into existing setups or use as standalone solutions, offering an immediacy that simplifies operation while expanding creative possibilities.
