Explo X2 Wave Flamer: flame effects take center stage at Nameless Festival 2026

Nameless Festival 2026 marked the return of the event to the Centro Sportivo Bione in Lecco, just a few meters from the place where the festival was born in 2013. Five stages, over 100 artists and 90,000 attendees defined an edition that confirmed Nameless as one of the key events in Italy for electronic music, hip hop and dance. Within a complex stage production and a large-scale stage, the special effects helped highlight the most important moments of the performances. On the Ploom Stage, the festival's main stage, a central role was entrusted to the Explo X2 Wave Flamer, supplied and managed by SpecialFX Pro, a company among the leaders in Italy specialized in stage effects and an Audio Effetti customer.

A project for the main stage

For the 2026 edition, SpecialFX Pro created a system on the Ploom Stage made up of 12 Explo X2 Wave Flamer.

The setup had to enhance a particularly imposing stage, ensuring visual consistency, programming precision and operational continuity throughout the three days of the event.

The machines were positioned both on the ground and at height, allowing the effects to be developed on multiple levels and enhancing the depth of the stage structure.

Moving flames synchronized with the show

The moving head of the Explo X2 Wave Flamer, adjustable by ±105°, makes it possible to direct the jets at different angles and create more complex movements than those achievable with a fixed-flame machine.

This feature allowed the operators to program different sequences based on the identity of the stages and the artists' performances, alternating vertical jets, crossing movements and side openings.

The flames, capable of reaching a maximum height of about 10 meters, were integrated into the show programming through DMX control, following drops, build-ups, rhythm changes and key musical passages.

The result was therefore not simply an increase in the number of effects, but a more precise management of their direction, duration and distribution in space.

Precision and reliability in intensive use

A festival of the Nameless' scale requires equipment capable of working for many consecutive hours, with short intervention times and no room for interruptions during performances.

During the event, the Explo X2 Wave Flamer ensured stability and operational continuity across the three stages, allowing the SpecialFX Pro team to focus on programming and on the creative management of the effects.

The precision of the movements made it possible to maintain the planned trajectories even in the fastest sequences, while the distribution of the units ensured good visibility of the effects from the different areas occupied by the audience.

In particular, the multilayer positioning contributed to giving greater depth to the scenes, avoiding the flames being perceived as a simple front line in front of the stage.

Programming adapted to the different performances

Among the most interesting aspects of the project was the possibility of adapting the same system to the different productions hosted on the Ploom Stage.

With headliners like Calvin Harris, John Summit and Fisher, the effects had to maintain a high impact without overlapping the performance or becoming repetitive. The ability to precisely control the orientation and activation of the flames made it possible to differentiate the sequences and insert them coherently into the various moments of the show.
