The LEM Commercial AVCore series, made up of four models (AVCore 8.8, AVCore 8.8ae, AVCore 16.8, AVCore 16.8ae), represents a new category of AV products because it is based on a single device that integrates an audio DSP, a 4K HDMI video matrix, PTZ camera control, and USB connectivity for videoconferencing and advanced automation. It is not just an audio processor, but a true automatic audio/video control room, capable of perfectly synchronizing the two worlds to produce dynamic layouts both for in-room monitors and for cloud platforms such as Zoom and Teams. Thanks to the ADI SHARC DSP and advanced proprietary algorithms (AEC, feedback suppressor, auto-mixer), AVCore ensures intelligent room management. The result is a powerful, scalable system with surprisingly competitive pricing, ideal for meeting rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, modern conference rooms, and much more.

LEM Commercial AVCore was created to meet a need that is becoming increasingly widespread: managing audio, video, cameras, presentations, and videoconferencing in a native and automatic way, without the presence of a technician in the control room and without forcing end users to deal with complex interfaces. In practice, it brings together what normally requires four separate devices - audio DSP, HDMI matrix, PTZ controller, and USB capture interface - turning a traditional room into an "intelligent" environment capable of independently managing microphones, cameras, and video sources.

Let's look at its key features together.

A function that makes AVCore unique: automatic video control based on audio

One of the elements that really sets AVCore apart from any traditional DSP is its ability to create an automatic video control room, perfectly synchronized with audio auto-mixing. Auto-mix is an algorithm that dynamically manages multiple open microphones, identifying at any moment who is speaking and adjusting levels intelligently: it keeps only the useful microphones active, reduces ambient noise, prevents acoustic feedback, and ensures consistently clear sound even with many participants.

When this technology is combined with video tracking, AVCore becomes a real director: it autonomously decides whom to frame, when to change shot, and how to compose the scene. Thanks to ATS automatic mixing and bidirectional communication with the auto-tracking module, the system instantly adjusts the PTZ camera angle and zoom.

To understand concretely how this audio/video integration works, here are the three key functions that make AVCore unique in its category:

  • Automatic presets: when a participant speaks, the ATS algorithm intercepts the signal and immediately recalls the PTZ preset associated with that position, ensuring a quick and consistent shot change

  • Multi-Window Layout: if several people speak at the same time, the video output activates automatic layouts (Picture-in-Picture or side-by-side panels), managing up to four simultaneous windows. This makes it possible to show both fixed views (such as audience or content) and speaker details, with 1 / 2 / 3 / 4-window configurations perfectly synchronized with the voice

  • Total consistency: the person speaking is always the one shown, eliminating dead time and empty shots typical of older automation systems.

The technical platform: premium DSP and integrated 4K 60 fps video switcher

From a hardware standpoint, the AVCore series makes no compromises, integrating high-end components for both the audio and video sections.

Premium-level audio processing

The heart of the system is the ADI SHARC 21489 processor at 450 MHz with SIMD architecture (capable of 400 MIPS and 1.6 GFLOPS).

The 32/40-bit floating-point processing guarantees absolute precision at every stage of the signal: dynamic range reaches up to a true 113 dB, and the risk of digital clipping or loss of detail is completely eliminated, even when applying very high attenuation or gain.

Running on this computing platform are the professional algorithms essential for True Conference audio management: Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) to eliminate echo in videoconferencing, Noise Suppression to reduce steady noise such as ventilation and air conditioning, Feedback Suppression with narrow notch filters to prevent acoustic feedback, and predictive Noise Gates to keep the sound stage clean.

The extremely low noise floor (≤ -95 dB A-weighted) contributes to crystal-clear and transparent audio, even in complex rooms or with many microphones active.

Ultra-HD video section and USB conversion

The integrated video section is a true broadcast-grade switcher. It features 4 HDMI inputs, 1 USB 3.0 input for additional sources, 1 main HDMI output, and 1 bidirectional USB Type-C output. The matrix supports a maximum 4K Ultra-HD resolution at 60Hz with 4:4:4 color sampling without compression, a fundamental specification to ensure perfect readability of text, spreadsheets, and detailed presentations on latest-generation monitors. Switching between sources is rigorously seamless (without signal drops, black screens, or visible latency). Through the Type-C port, the system sends the room computer (or the user's laptop) the already mixed and combined audio/video stream, ensuring immediate Plug & Play compatibility with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and all major Unified Collaboration platforms.

Camera management natively supports direct control of PTZ devices via network (ONVIF and VISCA IP protocols) or via traditional physical connections (RS-232, UDP, TCP), allowing presets to be configured and saved directly within the LEM management software.

In the "ae" versions, the unit integrates a Dante/AES67 audio network card with 16 inputs and 16 digital outputs. This makes it possible to transport audio over IP and insert AVCore within complex ecosystems (such as third-party ceiling array microphones, stageboxes, or centralized control rooms).

Four models: flexibility for small, medium, and large rooms

The AVCore series is available in four variants, all based on the same DSP platform and the same audio/video architecture. What changes is exclusively the I/O channel count (analog inputs and outputs) and Dante/AES67 digital network connectivity, while the video features remain unchanged (4 inputs and 1 HDMI output for all models).

  • AVCore 8.8: model with 8 analog MIC/line inputs (with configurable +48 V phantom power) and 8 balanced analog outputs on Phoenix connectors. Perfect for huddle rooms, medium meeting rooms, and standard classrooms

Note that all models share the same advanced functions: automatic video control, intelligent auto-mix, seamless HDMI switching, multi-window, PTZ control, USB Type-C for videoconferencing, presets, and customizable interfaces. The choice of model depends only on the number of physical microphones and any need for Dante connectivity.

Application areas: where AVCore really makes a difference

AVCore was designed for real environments, not theoretical scenarios. Its functions solve everyday problems that installers, technicians, and end users encounter in modern multifunction rooms.

Conference rooms and boardrooms

In a corporate meeting room, automatic control is a huge advantage. Participants speak freely, the camera follows them, shots change naturally, and the videoconference always keeps the right person in focus. No technician is needed, nor a complicated panel: the room "works on its own." Participants walk in, connect the laptop, and the camera automatically follows whoever is speaking, applying multi-window layouts for those connected remotely

Education environments

It makes it possible to show the teacher's presentation full screen and the teacher's own shot (or the student asking a question) in a Picture-in-Picture window at the same time. AEC (echo cancellation) ensures that students at home hear everything perfectly without annoying audio feedback. The teacher is always correctly framed, even when moving around. Students can participate, and the system automatically manages who is speaking. The online lesson maintains a clean control room setup, with multi-window layouts showing content, teacher, and students in a balanced way

Medium-large conference rooms, auditoriums, and institutional spaces

With the 16-input models, AVCore can manage complex panels, round tables, hybrid conferences, and spontaneous interventions. Auto-mix avoids overlap, the DSP eliminates echo and feedback, and automatic video control ensures a professional result even without an operator

Corporate, multi-room systems, and building AV

The Dante/AES67 versions make it possible to send audio streams from one room to another in the facility through a standard CAT6 network cable, simplifying signal centralization and integrating AVCore into complex audio networks with matrices, stageboxes, digital mixers, and multi-zone systems. Customizable user interfaces (for PC or mobile devices) allow non-technical staff to use the room with complete ease.

Why choose AVCore over traditional DSPs?

The strength of the AVCore series lies not only in the individual functions, but above all in the way they are integrated into a single platform. In today's market, many manufacturers offer excellent audio DSPs, but limit themselves to sound processing alone. Most competing systems include auto-mix, AEC, and audio routing, but require additional devices for HDMI switching, multi-window management, automatic PTZ control, and the Type-C interface for videoconferencing. Other systems focus on video control, but do not have a professional floating-point DSP, advanced AEC algorithms, or a truly intelligent auto-mix.

AVCore overcomes these limits by integrating everything into a single device, with a quality/price ratio that makes it extremely competitive in its category.

To understand the advantage concretely, here are the four elements that differentiate AVCore from its competitors:

Complete automatic video control

The ability to frame whoever is speaking, recall PTZ presets, handle two speakers with Picture-in-Picture, and generate separate layouts for the room and videoconferencing is a function that, at this price point, has no rivals

One device instead of four

Audio DSP, HDMI matrix, PTZ controller, and USB interface are integrated into a single unit. This means less cabling, fewer points of failure, less installation time, and overall much simpler management

Professional audio quality

The floating-point SHARC DSP guarantees premium-level audio processing. AEC, Feedback Suppression, Noise Reduction, and auto-mix algorithms keep the audio always clear, intelligible, and stable even with many microphones active

Immediate scalability

The "ae" versions with 16×16 Dante/AES67 allow immediate integration with any professional audio network, making AVCore suitable for both single rooms and multi-environment infrastructures.

Conclusions

AVCore is at the same time an automatic director and an intelligent coordinator that manages audio, video, cameras, and videoconferencing in a perfectly integrated way. It turns a room from a simple "microphoned" space into an intelligent space capable of autonomously running meetings, lessons, conferences, and hybrid events with a smooth and consistent control room setup.

For installers and system integrators, this translates into immediate benefits:

  • Fewer devices to include in quotes and mount in racks

  • Drastically reduced cabling

  • Elimination of compatibility and programming issues between different brands

  • Higher commercial margin and greater perceived value for the end customer

The LEM Commercial AVCore series is the ideal choice for those who want to offer modern Smart Room solutions, maximizing installation efficiency and profitability.
