In the new video published on the Audio Effetti Stream channel, our Product Specialist Roberto Scioni introduces the Harmonic Design QT12-ETH, a DSP amplifier designed for large-scale audio applications where power, control, and operational continuity are essential requirements.
QT12-ETH delivers a total of 12,000 watts in just 2 rack units, providing high power density and, most importantly, significant dynamic headroom. This translates into an enhanced ability to handle signal peaks while maintaining clarity and consistency, even under extreme operating conditions typical of live events, touring productions, and large-scale installations.
At the core of the system is the 4-input / 4-output hd MultiDSP architecture, integrating both IIR and FIR filters, including All Pass filters for precise phase linearization. This approach enables a more accurate system response, improving intelligibility and ensuring a coherent sound field, even in complex sound reinforcement configurations.
From a reliability standpoint, the switching power supply with PFC (Power Factor Correction) has been designed to operate consistently under continuous and demanding loads. In scenarios such as multi-day festivals or intensive touring schedules, it ensures stable power delivery without performance drops during critical moments.
The thermal management system further supports optimal operating conditions, even at full load, ensuring long-term stability and reducing the risk of overheating during extended use.
QT12-ETH also features advanced connectivity management, combining analog inputs with AES3 and Dante digital interfaces, with built-in redundancy between signal paths. The Ethernet port enables connection to the hd LevelZ-2 software, allowing users to monitor, configure, and optimize the entire Harmonic Design system, from a single setup to large-scale, complex configurations.
The user interface, featuring a 4” LCD display, provides direct access to essential functions such as presets, routing, delay, and gain adjustments, making operation quick and efficient, even during fast setup phases.
