For the 34th edition of the SilverSkiff Trophy, the international rowing regatta on the River Po held in early November in Turin, the team from our client Spectra Events Technology installed a 6 x 3.5-metre outdoor Yes Tech MG7 P3.9 LED wall to enhance the event and ensure a high-level visual experience for both spectators and athletes.

The SilverSkiff Trophy is a unique event in the Italian and international rowing scene. Over the years it has grown to become a global benchmark, included in the FISA calendar and able to reach a record of 750 entries, confirming its central role and strong connection with the city of Turin. The competition is not just sport: it is also celebration, tradition and promotion of the local area.

The challenge

The regatta takes place along an 11 km course on the River Po, with start and finish in front of the historic headquarters of R.S.C. Cerea. The very nature of the event extensive, dynamic and set in an urban context that meets the natural landscape of Valentino Park posed significant technical challenges.

It was essential to ensure visibility and engagement for the audience along the riverbanks, providing bright, high-contrast images even in changing daylight conditions and with a large influx of spectators. In addition, the setup had to comply with safety requirements and blend harmoniously into the surroundings, without interfering with the running of the race.

The solution

To meet these requirements, Spectra Events Technology, a full-service provider based in Venaria Reale (Turin) specialising in the rental and setup of professional equipment for shows, concerts, conventions, trade fairs and sports events, and offering dedicated consulting and technical support, chose to install a 6 x 3.5-metre outdoor Yes Tech MG7 P3.9 LED wall made up of 84 cabinets.

This configuration made it possible to broadcast live race images and updates. The display, designed to withstand outdoor conditions, was hung on a truss structure and delivered optimal brightness and definition even in broad daylight, with consistent colour reproduction and excellent visibility from different angles. Integration with the sound and lighting system completed the experience, turning part of the event into a multimedia show.

The results

The LED wall installation helped to strengthen the visual and communication impact of the SilverSkiff Trophy, improving content delivery for the audience and underlining the international character of the event. Yes Tech technology proved to be reliable and versatile, confirming Spectra Events Technology’s choice.
