Audio Effetti is proud to announce the latest addition to Avolites' renowned Diamond series of lighting consoles: the Diamond 7. Presented in an international preview at Prolight & Sound in Frankfurt, it is positioned just below the Diamond 9 and the Sapphire touch in the hierarchy of Avolites products designed for visual designers, and is available in two versions, D7-215 and D7-330, with two displays and 15 faders, and three displays and 30 faders, respectively.

Unquestionably, the main attraction of the Avolites stand at PLS 2024 was the new Diamond 7, a console that offers a well-designed, flexible and extremely practical control surface – as do all the consoles that bear the name of the prestigious British manufacturer – that follows the design language of the Diamond 9. In fact, the buttons, faders, knobs and encoder wheels are made exclusively for this console.

As previously mentioned, two models are available.

The D7-215 has two main 14-inch capacitive touch screens, capable of providing an adjustable luminance of up to 850 nits, and with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, plus a secondary 4.3-inch, 850-nit, 800×480-pixel touch screen dedicated to macros and the workspace.

The console has 15 motorised touch-sensitive faders and dual motorised master cue list faders (also touch-sensitive), but also nine control buttons, fader indicators and RGB encoders, 15 ultra-high-resolution, touch-sensitive playback encoders with push function, 60 dedicated C&K buttons with positive tactile feedback to help you manage lighting control functions precisely and intuitively, as well as independent paging for each playback section. Additionally, there are ten backlit Macro / Executor keys and ten soft Macro keys, RGB programming keys, short-stroke Cherry MX Low Profile switches, five customised backlit optical encoders, a dedicated intensity control wheel and on-screen level indication. It also offers a fully customised backlit QWERTY keyboard (in a sliding drawer) and support for an additional pair of external 1920×1080 px touch screens via Display Port.

In terms of build, it offers an uncompromising construction: to begin with, the entire structure is in aluminium, to reduce weight. The clamshell design of the LCD panel allows for space optimisation in transport, but also provides a locking mechanism and screen panel articulation adjustable in 6° steps from -90° to 155° from vertical. All screens are flush mounted. A comfortable arm rest is also provided.

The console supports animation-based generative pixel mapping, Quicksketch labelling for maximum personalisation, powerful multi-user networking with any other Titan console, advanced Cue Lists with support for macros, tracking, autoloads, Time Code and more. Its DMX capability is synergy-ready and can be expanded with Titan Net processors to increase the number of DMX channels.

Finally, the D7-215 fits into a Pelicase Air 1615 flight case, with a total weight below the European checked-bag limit (23 kg) for convenient transportation even on commercial flights.

D7-330 is the superior version, not so much in terms of functionality but in terms of the number of faders/encoders, which are essentially doubled (30 motorised faders and 30 encoders), with 120 dedicated buttons.

Naturally, the control surface is larger, while the main displays are increased to three 14" touch screens with 1920×1200-pixel resolution and adjustable luminance up to 850 nits.

Connections on the rear include a 4-port network switch, four DMX ports (32 output universes), LTC input and loop out, MIDI ports, output for one or external monitors (D7-215 and D7-330 respectively), 1 secondary Ethernet port, Trigger in, and GPI/O. Both variants are compatible with show files of all Titan Avo consoles. The USB port is conveniently hidden from view in the handle recess on the right side.

Availability of the console, in both variants, is planned for late summer 2024.
