With the GENIO series, SGM introduces to the market a modular platform currently made up of three fixtures that are very different from one another but natively designed to work in complete synergy: BlinderDot, Beam, and PixelBar. This integrated ecosystem combines static lighting, dynamic effects, and pixel mapping. Thanks to a common connection system and fully tool-less rigging, the system makes it possible to develop configurations ranging from a single projector to geometric matrices, clusters, and complex scenic structures. A strategic solution both for lighting designers, who can draw from a single "creative language", and for rental and audio-video service companies, which can maximize equipment utilization by reconfiguring the same elements according to the needs of the show.
After the now well-known PALCO series models, the Danish company presents the GENIO series, whose underlying concept lies in modularity: three lighting fixtures that can be used in stand-alone mode but express their full potential when combined. By using, as we will see, the Rigging Connectors and Fixture Connectors, professionals can join the lighting fixtures together to create graphic backdrops, continuous lines, or suspended grids without having to resort to custom structures. The distinctive feature of the system is that the fixtures not only share accessories and connections, but can also be combined within the same scenic structure, making it possible to create mixed configurations using Beam, BlinderDot, and PixelBar as elements of a single ecosystem.
To optimize workflow and warehouse preparation before the event, the entire series adopts integrated NFC technology. Through the dedicated SGM app for Android and iOS, technicians can access the configuration, change DMX addresses, and check the status of the fixtures even when the lights are not powered, directly from inside the flight case.
This feature makes it possible to prepare and configure entire batches of fixtures directly in the warehouse, significantly reducing setup times on site.
GENIO BlinderDot: the ultra-flexible source
It is the most versatile component in the family and probably the most adaptable element in the entire GENIO system. It can be used as a Blinder, Pixel dot, PAR can, pendant, or decorative element for set designs, and it can be preconfigured to create multi-point structures (such as the classic 4-Lite or 8-Lite modules).
The ability to create preassembled configurations also makes it possible to speed up set preparation and replicate recurring setups during tours and traveling productions.
Equipped with a powerful 400 W single-source RGBALW LED source, this fixture delivers 17,000 lm of light output with a native 50° beam and a CRI up to 96, making it ideal for broadcast and theatrical use. The body weighs only 3.5 kg, has an IP65 rating, and supports vertical suspended rigging with up to as many as 17 units!
GENIO BlinderDot - 400 W high‑power creative blinder with single‑source RGBALW engine, 17,000‑lumen output, 50° beam, versatile use as Blinder, Pixel Dot, PAR Can, Pendant or Truss Toner, modular GENIO system compatibility, IP65 rating, tool‑free mounting, NFC configuration

GENIO Beam: power and motion dynamics
Given its movement capabilities, GENIO Beam represents the dynamic component of the system. It is an ultra-compact and lightweight Beam moving head (8 kg), IP54-rated, equipped with a 120 mm front lens and a 95 W single-source RGBL source capable of delivering 35,000 lux at 5 meters (1200 lm). Its strong point is the speed of continuous Pan and Tilt motion, combined with a fast and precise motorized zoom with a variable beam angle from 2° to 33° and a kaleidoscopic prism effect for highly impactful aerial looks, which makes it possible to generate complex volumetric effects.
It supports vertical rigging of up to 6 units.
GENIO Beam - 200 W ultra‑compact RGBL beam moving head, 120 mm front lens, 35,000 lux at 5 m and fast 2° – 33° motorized zoom, continuous Pan/Tilt, kaleidoscope prism effect, IP54 rating, tool‑free mounting, NFC configuration

GENIO PixelBar: pixel control and linear effects
This pixel bar completes the range by offering a versatile linear source. The system delivers an exceptional output of up to 31,000 lm managed by a 600 W LED engine capable of being divided into 40 individually controllable RGB zones and 20 dedicated white zones for high-intensity Strobe and Blinder use.
The special architecture makes it possible to use the same fixture as a Pixel batten, high-intensity Strobe, and Cyclorama wash, while maintaining full control over the RGB and White sections. GENIO PixelBar also integrates an electronic Frost to instantly soften the beam.
The immediate transition from defined graphic effects to a soft, even wash also makes it possible to use the fixture as a Wash source.
IP65-rated, it weighs 8.5 kg and can be hung vertically in a column of up to 6 units, interfacing mechanically with the other elements of the family.

The connection system: what turns three fixtures into a family
A fundamental role in the GENIO project is played by accessories and, more generally, by a design strongly oriented toward the needs of rental houses and return on investment. The aforementioned Rigging Connectors and the Fixture Connectors (the latter available in S, M, and L sizes) make it possible to assemble and space the fixtures according to different geometries, with tool-free installation and replacement. Accessories thus become an integral part of the system, making it possible to transform BlinderDot, Beam, and PixelBar from individual units into a true modular platform.
This approach makes it possible to build mixed structures without resorting to dedicated carpentry or custom mechanical adaptations, using a single connection language across the entire range.
The same philosophy guided specific hardware choices aimed at keeping costs down, simplifying management, and maximizing reliability in the field. All models feature professional powerCON True1 connections and failsafe Ethernet I/O ports, designed to preserve signal continuity along the chain even in the event of a fixture failure. Following a less is more approach, SGM also chose to eliminate the onboard display and 5-pin XLR DMX connectors, entrusting configuration and management to the wireless NFC interface and the network.
Particular attention was also paid to logistics, a crucial aspect in touring and rental: the standard 120 × 60 cm flight cases can accommodate 20 BlinderDot, 8 Beam, or 24 PixelBar units respectively, optimizing storage and transport space and helping improve the logistical efficiency of the equipment pool through more rational handling of transport and warehouse operations.
Commercialization follows the same logic: the three models are offered in pairs and supplied with protective foam material, a choice designed to rationalize packaging and make it easier from the moment of purchase to create modular configurations.
Conclusions
The value of GENIO lies in the combination of the specialization of the individual fixtures and the modularity of the whole. BlinderDot provides an extremely flexible source, Beam adds beams, continuous motion, and aerial effects, while PixelBar introduces the linear dimension, pixel control, and Strobe effects.
The ability to make them coexist within the same rigging system makes it possible to build very different configurations starting from the same elements. For rental and service companies, this also translates into greater flexibility: the same fixtures can be quickly reconfigured to adapt more easily to different stages, events, and projects, increasing the utilization of the equipment pool and optimizing return on investment.
In short, SGM GENIO offers three complementary tools that form the initial core of an ecosystem destined to expand, conceived to become, when needed, a single creative system.
