UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G is a video capture interface that receives an SDI or HDMI signal from an external source and transfers it to your computer via Thunderbolt 4, allowing you to capture broadcast-quality video streams with minimal latency. It essentially transforms your computer into a reliable ingest system, capable of capturing SD, HD, and Ultra HD content up to 2160p 60, seamlessly integrating into live production, streaming, post-production, and graphics workflows.
Compact and powered directly by your computer, it's designed for camera operators, production engineers, professional streamers, and editors who need to capture signals from cameras, switchers, decks, or SDI/HDMI sources with absolute stability and full compatibility with professional software.
Thanks to the Thunderbolt 4 connection, the device guarantees sufficient bandwidth to handle 10-bit signals, advanced formats, and uncompressed capture, ensuring faithful capture of the original signal. UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G uses the same DeckLink API and Desktop Video drivers as Blackmagic Video cards, ensuring compatibility with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Media Composer, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Fusion, OBS, and many other editing, graphics, and streaming applications.
Format support includes SD (525i 59.94, 625i 50), HD up to 1080p 60, and Ultra HD up to 2160p 60, with Level A/B support for 3G-SDI. The device supports codecs such as ProRes, DNxHD, and 10-bit uncompressed, and includes Blackmagic Media Express for ingest and disk performance testing.
