I nastri professionali sono molto impiegati nel settore dello spettacolo e sono sempre presenti nella borsa del tecnico. Di certo il più famoso è il nastro Gaffer, detto anche Gaffa tape, che prende il nome proprio dalla figura tecnica che nel cinema viene chiamata Gaffer, il capo elettricista che ha funzione di comando e che, tra le altre mansioni, era il solo che dispensava il prezioso nastro.
