The 2025 edition of the NAB Show in Las Vegas has just wrapped up, and the Audio Effetti team had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the latest innovations from Blackmagic Design. The Australian company introduced a wide range of new products designed to redefine standards in video production, professional broadcasting, and live streaming.

From advanced 4K live streaming solutions to new tools for remote control, recording, and IP video routing, Blackmagic Design continues to push the boundaries of innovation—delivering powerful, efficient, and versatile devices tailored to enhance the workflows of broadcasters, content creators, video editors, and AV professionals.

Here’s an overview of the key releases that are set to reshape the industry in the near future:

• ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2: a compact, all-in-one video switcher designed for multi-camera live productions with 8 HDMI inputs. Perfect for YouTube streaming, corporate webinars on Zoom or Teams, and hybrid events. It offers a wide range of advanced video effects and features a built-in hardware streaming engine for direct broadcasts without additional software. Includes DVE, ISO recording on all video inputs, USB webcam output, and an integrated audio mixer. Ideal for broadcast, live events, and gaming.

• HyperDeck Shuttle 4K Pro: a high-end recorder and player with an ergonomic design, built for live production. Features a search dial for clip navigation and supports ProRes, DNx, H.264, and H.265 formats. Equipped with a 7” touchscreen, 12G-SDI and HDMI connections, and records to SD cards, UHS-II, or USB-C drives. With 10G Ethernet, it enables network recording and file sharing. It even includes a built-in teleprompter—perfect for streaming, live events, and TV production. 

   

• ATEM Micro Camera Panel: a professional broadcast control panel with CCU functionality for controlling up to 8 cameras from a single station. Compatible with Blackmagic Studio Camera, URSA Mini Pro, and URSA Broadcast, it offers advanced adjustments including color balance, black levels, gain, and shutter speed. Camera control is managed via SDI connection, including focus, iris, and zoom on supported lenses. It also features a DaVinci color corrector for achieving a cinematic look directly from the camera.

   

• Streaming Processors: a new range of compact encoders and decoders for live streaming to platforms like YouTube, Facebook, X, and more. Blackmagic Streaming Encoder 4K supports H.264 and H.265 up to 2160p60, with 12G-SDI input, USB-C webcam output, HDMI monitoring, and comes with Blackmagic Streaming Utility. Blackmagic Streaming Decoder 4K receives H.264/H.265 streams from Blackmagic encoders, ATEM switchers, or cameras, and converts them to SDI and HDMI outputs, including Tally, camera control, and Talkback. Both devices support Ethernet and 4G/5G mobile networks, offering great flexibility for remote productions. 

 

• DeckLink IP: a new family of capture and playback cards for SMPTE 2110 IP broadcast systems, supporting SD, HD, and Ultra HD up to 2160p60. Featuring high-speed PCIe slots, they ensure low latency and precise synchronization. Full NMOS protocol support allows virtual video routing matrices. Integrated video firewall protection keeps IP networks secure. The range includes four models, including the powerful DeckLink IP 100G, featuring 8 Ultra HD channels and dual 100G QSFP Ethernet ports. Ideal for broadcast, advanced graphics, and automation, and compatible with DaVinci Resolve and other professional software. 

   

• ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K Plus: the latest addition to the ATEM family, this massive Ultra HD switcher is designed for complex live productions, supporting up to 80 12G-SDI inputs with standards conversion, 48 12G-SDI aux outputs, 16 ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers, and 4 media players. It includes 4 independent Ultra HD multiview outputs and 2 SuperSource processors. The built-in Fairlight audio mixer supports up to 156 channels. A powerhouse for live events and professional TV studios. 

   

• Blackmagic Videohub Mini 12G: a compact SDI video router with 12G-SDI connectivity, compatible with SD, HD, and Ultra HD up to 2160p60. Available in three models (4x2, 6x2, 8x4), it allows instant routing via front panel buttons. Features include an SDI input, USB-C webcam output for streaming, clean switching for seamless transitions, and SDI reclocking to regenerate signals over long cables. Supports remote control via Ethernet and integration with routing management software. 

   

• Cloud Backup 8, an advanced rack-mount backup system for post-production environments—no subscription required. It includes 8 independent slots for 3.5” SATA hard drives, easily expandable for long-term archiving. With four 10G Ethernet ports, it ensures fast transfers and full integration with Blackmagic Cloud for project synchronization. The HDMI monitoring output displays real-time system status, making it ideal for professional studios and collaborative workflows.

   

These new solutions further solidify Blackmagic Design’s role as an industry leader, delivering accessible, powerful, and fully integrated tools that enhance every phase of the production workflow—from live switching and remote control to recording, storage, and post-production.
